In Friday's non-league battle, the host Italy Gladiators volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Aquilla Cougars.

The Gladiators (2-9) will now prepare for their battle against Itasca (Itasca, TX). The Wampus Cats come into the 2A Region II District 13 battle with a 2-6 record.

Next, the Cougars clash with the Penelope Wolverines (Penelope, TX) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, October 4. Aquilla will attempt to advance on its 14-8 season record. The Wolverines come into the battle with a 13-13 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Italy (Italy, TX).
