The Martin County West Mavericks (Sherburn, MN) volleyball held off the host New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds (New Ulm, MN), 3-2 in Monday's non-league challenge.

The Mavericks (15-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Madelia (Madelia, MN). The Blackhawks come into the Valley challenge with a 6-8 record. In their last challenge, Madelia Blue Earth (Blue Earth, MN), 1-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Greyhounds play the Nicollet Raiders (Nicollet, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 1. New Ulm Cathedral will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record.
