Southern Valley Eagles (Oxford, NE) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Chase County Longhorns (Imperial, NE), 50-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southern Valley upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Eagles travel to Holdrege (Holdrege, NE) to play the Dusters in a non-league bout on Friday, January 13. The Dusters go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Holdrege lost 56-26 in their recent non-league bout against Adams Central (Hastings, NE)

Next up, the Longhorns play the Perkins County Plainsmen (Grant, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Chase County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Plainsmen go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 45-38 non-league loss to Paxton (Paxton, NE).
