Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton Raiders (Gilbertsville, NY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Franklin Central Purple Devils (Franklin, NY), 44-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Raiders host Worcester (Worcester, NY) to play the Wolverines in a Section 4 Tri-Valley bout on Thursday, January 12. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 10-0. Worcester won 54-44 in their recent league bout against Laurens Central (Laurens, NY)

Next up, the Purple Devils play the Milford Central Wildcats (Milford, NY) in a Section 4 Tri-Valley bout, on Thursday, January 12. Franklin Central will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 50-32 league loss to Schenevus Central (Schenevus, NY).
