North Carolina High School Basketball - Carmel Christian tops Pine Lake Prep

Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC) and the host Pine Lake Prep Pride (Mooresville, NC), saw Carmel Christian's basketball squad knock off Pine Lake Prep by a tally of 60-51.

With the victory, Carmel Christian improves its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Cox Mill (Concord, NC) to play the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 13. The Chargers come into the challenge with a record of 7-5. Cox Mill lost 62-60 in their recent league challenge against Mooresville (Mooresville, NC)

Next up, the Pride play the Langtree Charter Lions (Mooresville, NC) in a 1A/2A Catawba Shores challenge, on Friday, January 12. Pine Lake Prep will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 1-15 record after their 77-56 league loss to Mountain Island Charter (Mt. Holly, NC).
