New York High School Basketball - Akron thwarts North Tonawanda
January 10, 2025: Akron, NY 14001 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Akron Tigers (Akron, NY) and the visiting North Tonawanda Lumberjacks (North Tonawanda, NY), observed Akron's basketball team knock off North Tonawanda by a score of 72-64.
The Tigers (6-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Newfane (Newfane, NY). The Panthers come into the Section 6 Niagara - Orleans challenge with a 2-7 record. In their last challenge, Newfane dropped by Royalton-Hartland (Middleport, NY), 52-45, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Lumberjacks encounter the Lewiston-Porter Lancers (Youngstown, NY) in a Section 6 Niagara - Frontier challenge, on Friday, January 17. North Tonawanda will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 67-45 league loss to Kenmore West (Buffalo, NY).
