New York High School Basketball - Chester thwarts Valley Central
January 11, 2023: Chester, NY 10918 The Chester Hambletonians (Chester, NY) basketball knocked off the visiting Valley Central Vikings (Montgomery, NY), 49-41 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Hambletonians (9-1) will now prepare for their test against Tri-Valley (Grahamsville, NY). The Bears go into the Section 9 Orange County V test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Tri-Valley notched a victory over Fallsburg (Fallsburg, NY), 38-21, in a non-league test.
The Vikings now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Kingston for a non-league test on Friday, January 13. Valley Central will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 57-35 non-league win over Guilderland (Guilderland Center, NY). The Tigers record now stands at 5-4.
