January 11, 2024: Mt. Vernon, MO 65712 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) and the visiting Spokane Owls (Spokane, MO), saw Mt. Vernon's basketball squad hold off Spokane by a count of 56-54.
With the victory, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Lockwood (Lockwood, MO) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 12-2. Lockwood won 37-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Dadeville (Dadeville, MO)
Next up, the Owls play the Stockton Tigers (Stockton, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 12. Spokane will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 69-51 non-league loss to Greenwood (Springfield, MO).
