North Carolina High School Basketball - Liberty Christian Academy nips Jones

Liberty Christian Academy Heat (Richlands, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Jones Trojans (Trenton, NC), 40-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Liberty Christian Academy upgrades its record to 1-10 on the campaign. The Heat travel to Hilltop Christian (Fuquay-Varina, NC) to play the Chargers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Chargers come into the bout with a record of 5-7. Hilltop Christian won 25-22 in their recent non-league bout against Faith Christian Academy (Goldsboro, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) in a 1A/2A Coastal Plains bout, on Friday, January 12. Jones will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Mariners come into the bout with a 12-2 record after their 68-62 league win over Northside - Pinetown (Pinetown, NC).
