Little Wound Mustangs (Kyle, SD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pine Ridge Thorpes (Pine Ridge, SD), 62-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Little Wound upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Red Cloud (Pine Ridge, SD) to play the Crusaders in a A Region 7 bout on Monday, January 16. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 9-0. Red Cloud won 59-44 in their recent non-league bout against Custer (Custer, SD)

Next up, the Thorpes play the St. Francis Indian Warriors (St. Francis, SD) in a A Region 7 bout, on Thursday, January 19. Pine Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record.
