Deptford Spartans (Deptford, NJ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Clearview Pioneers (Mullica Hill, NJ), 47-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Deptford upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Spartans travel to Cherry Hill East (Cherry Hill, NJ) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 8-4. Cherry Hill East lost 35-27 in their recent non-league bout against Camden Catholic (Cherry Hill, NJ)

Next up, the Pioneers play the Cherokee Chiefs (Marlton, NJ) in a non-league game, on Monday, January 16. Clearview will attempt to move on its 3-8 season record. The Chiefs enter the game with a 8-4 record after their 48-31 non-league win over Pitman (Pitman, NJ).
