South Dakota High School Basketball - Elk Point-Jefferson thwarts Ponca
January 13, 2023: Elk Point, SD 57025 The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (Elk Point, SD) basketball knocked off the visiting Ponca Indians (Ponca, NE), 54-46 in Friday's non-league test.
The Huskies (8-1) will now prepare for their test against Vermillion (Vermillion, SD). The Tanagers go into the A Region 4 test with a 3-6 record. In their last test, Vermillion went down by Lennox (Lennox, SD), 71-52, in a league test.
The Indians now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Bancroft-Rosalie for a non-league test on Saturday, January 14. Ponca will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 48-38 non-league win over Oakland-Craig (Oakland, NE). The Panthers record now stands at 10-3.
