Monmouth Regional Falcons (Tinton Falls, NJ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Matawan Regional Huskies (Aberdeen, NJ), 35-17 in a league bout.

With the win, Monmouth Regional upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Falcons host Lakewood (Lakewood, NJ) to play the Piners in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Piners go into the bout with a record of 0-7.

Next up, the Huskies play the St. John-Vianney Lancers (Holmdel, NJ) in a Shore B - North bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Matawan Regional will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 13-0 record after their 81-38 non-league win over Newington (Newington, CT).
