January 13, 2023: Opelousas, LA 70570 The Opelousas Catholic Vikings basketball team (Opelousas, LA), was overwhelmed 54-14 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting North Vermilion Patriots (Maurice, LA)
The Patriots now possess a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Iota for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 17. North Vermilion will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 49-32 non-league loss to St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-6.
The Vikings (1-10) will now prepare for their battle against Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA). The Trojans come into the 1A District 6 battle with a 8-6 record. In their last battle, Sacred Heart trounced Reed (New Orleans, LA), 54-10, in a non-league battle.
