Texas High School Soccer - Benton overwhelmed by Pleasant Grove
January 13, 2023: Texarkana, TX 75503 The crowd at Friday's non-league test between the Pleasant Grove Hawks (Texarkana, TX) and the visiting Benton Tigers (Benton, LA), saw Pleasant Grove's soccer squad triumph over Benton by a margin of 9-1.
The Hawks now sport a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Caddo Magnet for a non-league test on Saturday, January 14. Pleasant Grove will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Teurlings Catholic (Lafayette, LA). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-5.
With the loss, Benton drops to 7-9 on the season. The Tigers travel to Byrd (Shreveport, LA) to encounter the Yellow Jackets in a Division I District 1 test on Monday, January 16. The Yellow Jackets come into the test with a record of 2-5. Byrd lost 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Bell (Hurst, TX)
