In Saturday's non-league match, the host Roosevelt Rough Riders basketball team scored a good 51-39 triumph over the Independence Falcons.

In their next game, the Rough Riders meet the Hoover Patriots (Fresno, CA) in a North Yosemite match, on Tuesday, January 16. Roosevelt will attempt to move on its 8-10 season record. The Patriots enter the match with a 9-8 record after their 77-70 non-league loss to Centennial (Bakersfield, CA).

With the defeat, Independence moves to 10-5 on the year. The Falcons travel to Ridgeview (Bakersfield, CA) to meet the Wolf Pack in a South Yosemite - Valley match on Wednesday, January 17.
