In Saturday's non-league outing, the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) basketball squad beat the visiting Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), by a margin of 49-39.

The Piasa Birds (13-7) will now prepare for their outing against Staunton (Staunton, IL). The Bulldogs go into the non-league outing with a 11-8 record. In their last outing, Staunton defeated Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL), 71-34, in a non-league outing.

The Knights now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they travel to Springfield for a non-league outing on Monday, January 15.
