Ohio High School Basketball - Martins Ferry overwhelms Buckeye Local
January 13, 2025: Rayland, OH 43943 The Martins Ferry Purple Riders basketball team scored 75 points and limited the host Buckeye Local Panthers to 18 in the Purple Riders non-league triumph on Monday.
The Purple Riders now possess a 8-4 record. They play next when they travel to St. Clairsville for a non-league game on Tuesday, January 14. Martins Ferry will confront a Red Devils team coming off a 47-16 league loss to Union Local (Belmont, OH). The Red Devils record now stands at 0-11.
With the loss, Buckeye Local falls to 1-12 on the campaign. The Panthers host Brooke (Wellsburg, WV) to confront the Bruins in a Two Rivers game on Wednesday, January 15. The Bruins go into the game with a record of 0-7. Brooke lost 54-15 in their recent league game against Catholic Central (Steubenville, OH)
