January 13, 2025: Des Moines, IA 50323 Des Moines Christian Lions (Des Moines, IA) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Winterset Huskies (Winterset, IA), 48-34 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Des Moines Christian advances its record to 10-3 on the year. The Lions host Madrid (Madrid, IA) to meet the Tigers in a West Central match on Friday, January 17. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 3-8. Madrid lost 57-5 in their recent non-league match against Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (Guthrie Center, IA)
The Huskies now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ballard for a Raccoon River match on Tuesday, January 14. Winterset will meet a Bombers squad coming off a 70-43 non-league loss to Valley (Elgin, IA). The Bombers record now stands at 2-8.
