New Mexico High School Basketball - Gallup topped by Albuquerque Academy
January 14, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87109 The Albuquerque Academy Chargers basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the visiting Gallup Bengals to 58 in the Chargers non-league victory on Saturday.
The Chargers now sport a 12-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Valley for a 4A District 6 contest on Wednesday, January 18. Albuquerque Academy will battle a Vikings team coming off a 81-61 non-league win over Cottonwood Classical Prep (Albuquerque, NM). The Vikings record now stands at 9-7.
The Bengals (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM). The Bobcats come into the 4A District 1 contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Bloomfield dropped by Shiprock (Shiprock, NM), 65-53, in a non-league contest.
