Illinois High School Basketball - Arcola nips Central A & M
January 14, 2023: Moweaqua, IL 62550 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Arcola Purple Riders (Arcola, IL) and the host Central A & M Raiders (Moweaqua, IL), saw Arcola's basketball squad hold off Central A & M by a tally of 51-46.
With the victory, Arcola improves its record to 9-9 on the campaign. The Purple Riders travel to Cerro Gordo/Bement (Cerro Gordo, IL) to play the Broncos in a Lincoln Prairie challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Broncos come into the challenge with a record of 11-8. Cerro Gordo/Bement lost 68-67 in their recent league challenge against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL)
Next up, the Raiders play the Sullivan Redskins (Sullivan, IL) in a Central Illinois challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Central A & M will attempt to improve on its 2-13 season record. The Redskins come into the challenge with a 3-14 record after their 65-40 league loss to Tuscola (Tuscola, IL).
