New York High School Basketball - Williamsville South tops Cheektowaga
January 14, 2023: Cheektowaga, NY 14225 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Williamsville South Billies (Williamsville, NY) and the host Cheektowaga Warriors (Cheektowaga, NY), saw Williamsville South's basketball squad knock off Cheektowaga by a count of 65-51.
With the victory, Williamsville South upgrades its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Billies travel to Iroquois (Elma, NY) to play the Chiefs in a Section 6 Erie County II challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Iroquois lost 72-39 in their recent league challenge against Amherst Central (Amherst, NY)
Next up, the Warriors play the Lackawanna Steelers (Lackawanna, NY) in a Section 6 Erie County III challenge, on Wednesday, January 18. Cheektowaga will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Steelers come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 82-59 league win over Lake Shore (Angola, NY).
