West Union Dragons (West Union, OH) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Clay Panthers (Portsmouth, OH), 54-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Union upgrades its record to 1-8 on the season. The Dragons host Manchester (Manchester, OH) to play the Greyhounds in a Southern Hills bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Manchester lost 61-36 in their recent league bout against Fayetteville-Perry (Fayetteville, OH)

Next up, the Panthers play the Glenwood Tigers (New Boston, OH) in a Southern Ohio I bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Clay will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 54-23 non-league loss to Peebles (Peebles, OH).
