The Ottawa Pirates (Ottawa, IL) basketball crushed the visiting Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL), 59-32 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Pirates (10-8) will now prepare for their test against Morris (Morris, IL). The Redskins go into the Interstate Eight test with a 5-14 record.

The Trojans now own a 7-15 record. They play next when they host Bureau Valley for a Three Rivers - East test on Tuesday, January 17. Mendota will encounter a Storm squad coming off a 64-58 non-league loss to Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL). The Storm record now stands at 4-16.
