Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers (Newtown Square, PA) and the visiting Collegium Charter Cougar (Exton, PA), saw Marple Newtown's basketball squad hold off Collegium Charter by a count of 41-34.

With the victory, Marple Newtown improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign.

The Cougar (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against Church Farm (Paoli, PA). The Griffens come into the battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Church Farm was nudged by Dock Mennonite (Lansdale, PA), 38-37, in a league battle.
