Florida High School Basketball - Haines City holds off Lake Gibson

The Haines City Hornets basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Lake Gibson Braves to 58 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hornets now have a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Apopka for a non-league game on Saturday, January 18. Haines City will confront a Blue Darters team coming off a 49-34 non-league win over Lake Minneola (Minneola, FL). The Blue Darters record now stands at 14-5.

With the loss, Lake Gibson falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Wesley Chapel (Wesley Chapel, FL) to confront the Wildcats in a non-league game on Wednesday, January 15. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 12-4. Wesley Chapel won 91-70 in their recent league game against Zephyrhills (Zephyrhills, FL)
