January 15, 2022: Mattoon, IL 61938 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Mattoon Green Wave (Mattoon, IL) and the visiting St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL), saw Mattoon's basketball squad overcome St. Joseph-Ogden by a tally of 61-51.
With the victory, Mattoon improves its record to 19-2 on the campaign. The Green Wave host MacArthur (Decatur, IL) to confront the Generals in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 17. The Generals come into the challenge with a record of 12-7. MacArthur won 46-43 in their recent league challenge against Glenwood (Chatham, IL)
Next up, the Spartans confront the St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) in a Illini Prairie challenge, on Monday, January 17. St. Joseph-Ogden will attempt to improve on its 13-6 season record. The Sabers come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 57-37 league loss to Olympia (Stanford, IL).
