Georgia High School Basketball - Jackson County thwarts Gilmer
January 15, 2024: Jefferson, GA 30548 The Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA) basketball knocked off the visiting Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA), 65-52 in Monday's non-league test.
The Panthers (8-9) will now prepare for their test against Gainesville (Gainesville, GA). The Red Elephants go into the AAAAAA Region 8 test with a 5-12 record. In their last test, Gainesville went down by Heritage (Newnan, GA), 58-44, in a non-league test.
The Bobcats now own a 12-5 record. They play next when they travel to Fannin County for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 16. Gilmer will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 66-55 non-league loss to Union County (Blairsville, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 8-8.
