January 15, 2025: Eben Junction, MI 49825 Newberry Indians (Newberry, MI) supporters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Superior Central Cougars (Eben Junction, MI), 50-27 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Newberry advances its record to 6-4 on the year. The Indians travel to Rudyard (Rudyard, MI) to face the Bulldogs in a Eastern Upper Peninsula match on Friday, January 17. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 6-6. Rudyard lost 62-28 in their recent non-league match against Munising (Munising, MI)
The Cougars now own a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Carney-Nadeau for a Central Upper Peninsula match on Tuesday, January 21. Superior Central will face a Wolves squad coming off a 80-49 non-league loss to Nah Tah Wahsh (Wilson, MI). The Wolves record now stands at 5-8.
