Carle Place Frogs (Carle Place, NY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lawrence Golden Tornadoes (Cedarhurst, NY), 66-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Carle Place upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season.

Next up, the Golden Tornadoes play the Island Trees Bulldogs (Levittown, NY) in a Section 8 VII bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Lawrence will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 75-38 league loss to Friends Academy (Locust Valley, NY).
