Mount Ayr Raiders (Mount Ayr, IA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA), 58-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mount Ayr upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Raiders travel to Lenox (Lenox, IA) to play the Tigers in a Pride of Iowa bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Lenox won 76-48 in their recent league bout against Martensdale-St. Mary's (Martensdale, IA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Diagonal Maroons (Diagonal, IA) in a Bluegrass bout, on Friday, January 20. Murray will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 7-7 record after their 51-32 league win over Orient-Macksburg (Orient, IA).
