Illinois High School Basketball - Normal University holds off Washington
January 16, 2023: Washington, IL 61571 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) and the host Washington Panthers (Washington, IL), saw Normal University's basketball squad hold off Washington by a tally of 54-48.
With the victory, Normal University improves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Rochester (Rochester, IL) to confront the Rockets in a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Rockets come into the challenge with a record of 11-9. Rochester won 79-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Lutheran (Springfield, IL)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs (Mahomet, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Washington will attempt to improve on its 11-10 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 51-48 league loss to Mattoon (Mattoon, IL).
