New York High School Basketball - Avon can't hold off Lyons
January 16, 2024: Avon, NY 14414 The Lyons Lions basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the host Avon Braves to 45 in the Lions non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Lions now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Geneva for a non-league contest on Monday, January 22. Lyons will battle a Panthers team coming off a 55-47 league win over Newark (Newark, NY). The Panthers record now stands at 7-3.
The Braves (12-1) will now prepare for their contest against Geneseo (Geneseo, NY). The Blue Devils come into the Section 5 Livingston 2 contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, Geneseo was nudged by Le Roy (Le Roy, NY), 70-53, in a league contest.
