Minnesota High School Basketball - Pine River-Backus knocked off by Bertha-Hewitt
January 16, 2024: Pine River, MN 56474 The Bertha-Hewitt Bears basketball team scored 71 points and held the host Pine River-Backus Tigers to 57 in the Bears league triumph on Tuesday.
The Bears now sport a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Henning for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 18. Bertha-Hewitt will battle a Hornets team coming off a 63-61 non-league win over Ada-Borup (Ada, MN). The Hornets record now stands at 13-2.
The Tigers (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (Walker, MN). The Wolves enter the A Section 5 contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley was defeated by Cass Lake-Bena (Cass Lake, MN), 83-44, in a non-league contest.
