Indiana High School Basketball - Speedway holds off Western Boone

January 16, 2024: Thorntown, IN 46071

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Speedway Sparkplugs (Speedway, IN) and the host Western Boone Stars (Thorntown, IN), saw Speedway's basketball squad hold off Western Boone by a tally of 42-36.

With the victory, Speedway improves its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Sparkplugs travel to South Putnam (Greencastle, IN) to confront the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 12-8. South Putnam won 58-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Monrovia (Monrovia, IN)

Next up, the Stars confront the Danville Warriors (Danville, IN) in a Sagamore challenge, on Friday, January 19. Western Boone will attempt to improve on its 9-11 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 18-3 record after their 52-45 non-league win over McCutcheon (Lafayette, IN).
