Highland Hawks (Gilbert, AZ) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Tucson High Magnet School Badgers (Tucson, AZ), 49-44 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Highland advances its record to 9-8 on the year. The Hawks host Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ) to meet the Bulldogs in a 6A Fiesta match on Friday, January 17. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 5-13. Queen Creek won 64-45 in their recent non-league match against Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ)

The Badgers now own a 10-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rincon/University for a 6A South match on Tuesday, January 21.
