January 17, 2022: Hatfield, MA 01038 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Smith Academy Falcons (Hatfield, MA) and the visiting Greenfield Green Wave (Greenfield, MA), saw Smith Academy's basketball squad hold off Greenfield by a count of 52-48.
With the victory, Smith Academy upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to McCann Tech (North Adams, MA) to play the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 19. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 3-2. McCann Tech won 63-27 in their recent non-league challenge against Pioneer Valley Christian (Springfield, MA)
Next up, the Green Wave play the Frontier Regional Red Hawks (South Deerfield, MA) in a Hampshire - North challenge, on Thursday, January 20. Greenfield will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Red Hawks come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 69-61 non-league win over Springfield Renaissance (Springfield, MA).
