Chelsea Hornets (Chelsea, AL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Northridge Jaguars (Tuscaloosa, AL), 46-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Chelsea upgrades its record to 17-4 on the campaign. The Hornets host Homewood (Homewood, AL) to play the Patriots in a 6A Area 9 bout on Friday, January 21. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 15-10. Homewood lost 41-26 in their recent league bout against Mountain Brook (Birmingham, AL)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Brookwood Panthers (Brookwood, AL) in a 6A Area 7 bout, on Friday, January 21. Northridge will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record.
