The Cairo Syrupmakers basketball team (Cairo, GA), was routed 65-36 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting Monroe Golden Tornadoes (Albany, GA)

The Golden Tornadoes now sport a 14-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Carver for a AAA Region 1 battle on Friday, January 20. Monroe will battle a Tigers team coming off a 60-54 non-league win over Ramsay (Birmingham, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 9-9.

The Syrupmakers (1-12) will now prepare for their battle against Bainbridge (Bainbridge, GA). The Bearcats come into the AAAA Region 1 battle with a 1-17 record. In their last battle, Bainbridge was routed by Hardaway (Columbus, GA), 60-29, in a league battle.
