Virginia High School Basketball - Highland edges St. James
January 17, 2023: Warrenton, VA 20186 The Highland Hawks (Warrenton, VA) basketball nipped the visiting St. James Saints (Hagerstown, MD), 38-36 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Hawks (6-4) will now prepare for their test against Wakefield (The Plains, VA). The Fighting Owls go into the Greater Piedmont test with a 7-1 record. In their last test, Wakefield got by Randolph-Macon Academy (Front Royal, VA), 33-18, in a league test.
The Saints now own a 4-8 record. They play next when they host Brookewood for a non-league test on Friday, January 27. St. James will encounter a squad coming off a 25-8 non-league win over Washington Latin Public Charter School (Washington, DC). The record now stands at 3-0.
