Massachusetts High School Basketball - Winchester holds off Wakefield Memorial
January 17, 2023: Winchester, MA 01890 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Winchester Red & Black (Winchester, MA) and the visiting Wakefield Memorial Warriors (Wakefield, MA), saw Winchester's basketball squad hold off Wakefield Memorial by a tally of 40-37.
With the victory, Winchester improves its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Red & Black travel to Lexington (Lexington, MA) to confront the Minutemen in a Middlesex challenge on Friday, January 20. The Minutemen come into the challenge with a record of 5-0. Lexington won 64-51 in their recent league challenge against Melrose (Melrose, MA)
Next up, the Warriors confront the Burlington Red Devils (Burlington, MA) in a Middlesex challenge, on Friday, January 20. Wakefield Memorial will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 65-39 league loss to Belmont (Belmont, MA).
