New Mexico High School Basketball - Las Cruces triumphant over Carlsbad
January 17, 2025: Carlsbad, NM 88221 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Las Cruces Bulldawgs (Las Cruces, NM) and the host Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls (Carlsbad, NM), observed Las Cruces's basketball team overwhelm Carlsbad by a score of 48-21.
The Bulldawgs (7-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM). The Trojans come into the 5A District 3 challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, Mayfield trounced Silver (Silver City, NM), 55-33, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Cavemen/Cavegirls encounter the Centennial Hawks (Las Cruces, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Carlsbad will attempt to improve on its 12-5 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 73-49 non-league win over Deming (Deming, NM).
