January 17, 2025: Asheboro, NC 27205 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles (Asheboro, NC) and the visiting Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC), observed Uwharrie Charter Academy's basketball team overwhelm Southwestern Randolph by a score of 71-42.
The Eagles (14-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Wheatmore (Trinity, NC). The Warriors come into the 1A/2A Piedmont challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, Wheatmore was routed by Providence Grove (Franklinville, NC), 58-49, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cougars encounter the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls (Norwood, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Southwestern Randolph will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls come into the challenge with a 9-6 record after their 55-48 league win over Union Academy (Monroe, NC).
