In Friday's non-league contest, the host Clarkson/Leigh Patriots basketball team scored a close 37-35 triumph over the Archangels Catholic Defenders.

The Patriots (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Pender (Pender, NE). The Pendragons go into the non-league contest with a 15-0 record. In their last contest, Pender nipped Homer (Homer, NE), 54-28, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Defenders battle the Riverside Chargers (Cedar Rapids, NE) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Archangels Catholic will attempt to better on its 9-6 season record. The Chargers go into the contest with a 3-12 record after their 39-27 non-league win over Elba (Elba, NE).
