Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Farrell held off by Moon Area
January 17, 2026: Farrell, PA 16121 In Saturday's non-league test, the Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA) basketball squad got by the host Farrell Steelers (Farrell, PA), by a tally of 49-46.
The Tigers now possess a 11-2 record. They play next when they travel to Lincoln Park Performing Arts for a WPIAL 5A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 20. Moon Area will play a team coming off a 63-49 non-league loss to New Castle (New Castle, PA). The record now stands at 7-4.
With the loss, Farrell moves to 4-7 on the season. The Steelers host Mercer (Mercer, PA) to encounter the Mustangs in a District 10 Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 9-4. Mercer lost 80-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Eisenhower (Russell, PA)
