January 18, 2022: Santa Teresa, NM 88021 The Santa Teresa Desert Warriors basketball team (Santa Teresa, NM), was toppled 51-40 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM)
The Chiefs now possess a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alamo Navajo for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 20. Mescalero Apache will confront a Cougars team coming off a 62-43 league win over Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 6-7.
The Desert Warriors (3-12) will now prepare for their battle against Carlsbad (Carlsbad, NM). The Cavemen come into the non-league battle with a 15-3 record. In their last battle, Carlsbad beat Capital (Santa Fe, NM), 48-45, in a non-league battle.
