Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Edwardsville Tigers (Edwardsville, IL), 51-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Granite City upgrades its record to 12-9 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Cahokia (Cahokia, IL) to play the Comanches in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Comanches come into the bout with a record of 5-16. Cahokia won 66-59 in their recent non-league bout against Jersey (Jerseyville, IL)

Next up, the Tigers play the Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Edwardsville will attempt to upgrade on its 13-8 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 12-9 record after their 66-59 non-league loss to Cahokia (Cahokia, IL).
