Louisiana High School Basketball - Ville Platte tops Opelousas
January 18, 2023: Opelousas, LA 70525 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Ville Platte Bulldogs (Ville Platte, LA) and the host Opelousas Tigers (Opelousas, LA), saw Ville Platte's basketball squad knock off Opelousas by a tally of 35-26.
With the victory, Ville Platte improves its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Northwest (Opelousas, LA) to play the Raiders in a 3A District 4 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 3-9. Northwest lost 51-43 in their recent non-league challenge against University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA)
Next up, the Tigers play the Livonia Wildcats (Livonia, LA) in a 4A District 5 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Opelousas will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 60-54 league loss to Breaux Bridge (Breaux Bridge, LA).
