Arizona High School Basketball - Chinle can't hold off Gallup
January 18, 2025: Chinle, AZ 86503 Gallup Bengals (Gallup, NM) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Chinle Wildcats (Chinle, AZ), 54-50 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Gallup advances its record to 7-9 on the year. The Bengals travel to Miyamura (Gallup, NM) to face the Patriots in a 4A District 1 match on Tuesday, January 21. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 1-15. Miyamura lost 57-51 in their recent non-league match against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM)
The Wildcats now own a 13-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Window Rock for a 3A North match on Tuesday, January 21. Chinle will face a Fighting Scouts squad coming off a 58-53 league loss to Monument Valley (Kayenta, AZ). The Fighting Scouts record now stands at 7-13.
