January 18, 2025: Mattoon, IL 61938 The Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) basketball edged the visiting Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL), 49-42 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Greenwave now possess a 4-14 record. They play next when they travel to Hillsboro for a non-league bout on Monday, January 20. Mattoon will play a Hiltoppers team coming off a 62-51 league loss to Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Hiltoppers record now stands at 9-8.
With the loss, Greenville falls to 12-7 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL) to play the Hiltoppers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 21.
